Class Announcements 1point perspective drawingsThe students are learning how to draw roads, fences, boxes, ponds, houses, and all the things that show depth when using 1 point perspective. They will be drawing their own houses after learning the technical skills.
1 term assessment quiz 1/8/10Dream Machines/WatercolorThe students are designing on thumbnails their fantasy dream machines.
They will be using watercolor and typing a story about their machines telling about their special features. Juxtapose collageThe students are working on a Juxtapose collage creature using paint and paper. If the students do not get to it this term they will finish when they come back to art the last nine weeks of school.
IF I WERE A TREE WHAT WOULD I BE?The students are to draw a tree that represents them. The tree could be a sports tree, a shopping tree or what ever they want to be. Color and have fun.

Due 1/8/09 Paint Blot CharactersAfter pumping up to three different colors of paint into the center of their paper the sixth graders folded their page and squished the paint together to create a random “paint blot”. While the paint was drying the class discussed the art movements of Surrealism and Dadaism. Students determined the difference between assemblage, photo montage and collage. When the blots were dry they were studied to see what emerged. Students then used magazine collage to create a character that was doing something. After their collage was complete they wrote a story about their character. ![]() African Mud ClothsStudents are learning about African Mud Cloths.
